Introduction To Selenium

Test Automation has grown in popularity over the years because companies don’t have the time or money to invest in large test teams to make sure that the applications are working correctly. Personally I didn’t want to click on the same thing over and over again. If we have process, where we repeat and repeat the same thing over and over again, why not automate it? This is where Selenium comes in into play.

Selenium is free and the most commonly used open source tool that allows testers and developers to create automated tests for web applications. It supports many popular platforms (Windows, Linux and Apple OS X), browsers in various versions (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera), programing languages (Python, Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript, PHP) and has a very big community of users.

You may want to try selenium if you want to save time, create robust, browser-based regression automation tests and increase the quality of tests for the the application that you are testing.

More information can be found on Selenium official website and through this website.
